In 1990 facing expensive plant expansion and upgrading to meet increased hydraulic loads and more stringent effluent parameters the decision was made to connect to Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority and abandon the treatment plant. Harvey’s Lake was connected to DAMA in 1976, Lehman Township connected in 1987 and Jackson Township connected in 1989. Construction lasted until 1972, when connections to the system began. In March of 1969 the name of the authority was changed to Dallas Area Municipal Authority to more clearly define the service area.Ī treatment plant was constructed on the site of the former Piedmont Inn on the original Dallas The purpose was to provide public sewer services to the founding municipalities. The Freehold Township Recycling Center will have special Holiday hours.The Authority was incorporated by the Townships of Kingston and Dallas and the Borough of Dallas, as the Back Mountain Municipal Authority in March of 1967. The Recycling Center is run by the Department of Public Works. Note: The recycling center may close for snow or other emergencies, in preparation of emergencies or at the discretion of the Township without notice.

The Recycling Drop Off Center will be open every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm.Įffective immediately, there will be no evening hours. Electronics from out of Freehold Township can be dropped off at: Although you do not need a permit to drop off recycling, brush or leaves, you will be required to show proof of residency.Įffective immediately, the recycling center will only be accepting electronics from Freehold Township residents. Vehicles larger than a pickup truck, rack body truck, enclosed trailer and commercial vehicles will not be allowed access into the center for drop off.

It is available for Township residents only and proof of residency is required. Freehold Township operates a Recycling Drop-Off Center at the Department of Public Works facility on 66 Jackson Mills Road.
